One of the most profound related moments for why Hearts & Harmonies is creating concert fundraiser experiences happened back in 2005. A very special little girl in the Hearts & Harmonies family was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, which required a life-saving bone marrow transplant.
The Make-a-Wish Foundation https://wish.org/ was there as a bright light, allowing for 1 of 3 of her wishes to be granted. At that time, ‘Auntie Keri’ was working in production for the TV show Access Hollywood and was in a position to be instrumental in joining forces with the nonprofit to grant one of her wishes — to meet the actress and musician Hillary Duff.
There was a determination to create a very special experience, from picking her up at the hospital after a treatment, to surprising her with a meet & greet, to the front row live concert experience. It was an inspirational moment that came about from a heartfelt desire for her to feel the love and power of music.
Below you can see the letter she wrote about the experience at 8 years old. Not only was this an amazing music-related moment, but also a fan of the band Queens of the Stone Age was the bone marrow match that saved her life!
Hearts & Harmonies quest is to bring music, charity and art together globally for many more inspirational and life changing experiences.
